Meet Alison Mount

COMMITTEE MEMBER

I fell in love with pugs and had my first in 1960. Pug was not the best show dog and put his tail down when he saw a show lead but I adored him and learnt so much about the breed from then on, thanks to many top breeders who alas are no longer with us.

Much later on, I bred several champions and have shown dogs for friends and campaigned them to their titles. For a long period, I volunteered for PDWRA rehoming pugs.

I have served on the committee of the Pug Dog Club several times and am proud to be a Vice President and enjoy editing the PDC Bulletin.

I have awarded CC’s in the UK on many occasions and am on the KC assessors list for the breed.

I have taken part in seminars for the training of judges and was proud to judge pugs at Crufts in 2012 and have been very fortunate in being invited to judge in many European countries, Russia, America and Australia.

To me, they are just wonderful and always will be. Their health, welfare and character is close to my heart and I should hate their appearance and character to change
